After much discussion and speculation about the Chinese romantic period drama 'Sound of the Desert', Chinese Entertainment Shanghai has finally decided to release it for airing on October 1 on Hunan Satellite TV.
'Sound of Desert, which is a period romance drama previously known as 'Song of Desert', is based on the novel entitled 'Da Mo Yao' by writer Tong Hua who is also the writer of the novel 'Bu Bu Jing Xin'.

The screen adaptation of the drama has finished its filming period since July 2012. However, the drama faced schedule delays in its broadcast due to the disapproval issued by the State Administration of Radio Film and Television (SARFT) about how the historical figures in the story were depicted.
This initial decision made by SARFT didn't get a good feedback from fans of the drama who are hoping to watch it.
Chinese Entertainment Shanghai has finally addressed the fans for their support and held exclusive screening of 'Sound of the Desert' in Beijing, Shanghai and Chongqing last September 18.
During the screening, the producers showcased a 66-minute edited film version of the drama instead of just showing a compilation of scenes from 'Sound of the Desert'.
The special screening also showed teasers on the unrevealed points of the plot and gave viewers a glimpse of what goes on in the love triangle between Mo Xun, Jin Yu and Wei Wuji, respectively portrayed by actors Hu Ge, Cecillia Liu and Eddie Peng.
Reports also say that the screening seemed to have revealed the ending of the drama, showing Hu Ge's character in the desert watching Jin Yu and Wuji leave. Still, it is uncertain whether the ending to the drama will be the same.
Karen Tsai, the producer of the drama, was present during the screening in Beijing. She shared stories about the time they were filming the drama and praised the theme song entitled 'Live Well' which was performed by Hu Ge and released just recently.
