Recently, there is a huge rumor saying that Chen Kun (Aloys) and Vicki Zhao have ended their relationship already, even though both of them have come out and made it clear, it also cannot stop all these rumors between them. Chen Kun reposted zhao's comment on Sina Weibo on June 8 about resisting to eat dog meat. This was the first interaction between them two after rumors. It was suspected that their relationship has been getting better.

After the release of the movie which is directed by Vicki Zhao "So Young", almost all classmates in the performance class of 1996 in Beijing Film Academy, who have been credited by Sina Weibo, have all cheered for Zhao for her first movie. Her best brother Huang Xiaoming was walking overnight on crutches for Zhao's advertising platform even regardless of the pain on his foot. However, as one of Zhao's good friends for many years, Chen Kun, didn't act like he should. He didn't give her too much support on Sina Weibo. That was the reason why people could not help to make the speculation that maybe Chen Kun and Vicki Zhao had a crisis in their friendship.

Then, Chen Kun continuously updated his Weibo on May 11 and May 10. He has interpreted his understanding of "being used" and "the friends agrees best at a distance". He said he appreciated those people who used him. He also said even if people's point views are different their ideas still need to be respected, and it's better to keep the distance.

Although later Chen Kun and Vicki Zhao have made it clear in different occasions on this issue between them, on May 18, Chen Kun responded in Cannes: "Zhao is a friend of mine for ten plus years. The relationship is pretty much like what between 'gentlemen', which means we are different, but we are good" On May 26, Zhao responded in Beijing when she attended a ceremony: "I never fell out with Chen Kun, we are still good friends." She also pointed that they have not met each other for two years."

On June 8th, Zhao reposted a Weibo about resisting to eat dog meat, she said angrily: "It is too cruel even to watch! Why they are doing this? It shouldn't be like this! Amitabha!" Chen Kun, later then he reposted that Weibo, he also said: "why?" Chen Kun and Vicki Zhao both pointed in interviews for fashion magazines in 2007 and 2008 that they are Buddhists.
