Former U.S. Vice President Al Gore wants to punish climate change deniers and suggests that politicians who reject science should also pay the price.

Gore, an active environmentalist, spoke recently at the South by Southwest (SXSW) music and tech festival held in Austin, Texas. During his talk, he revealed there are many smart investors that plan on taking-up an interest in alternative energy companies as opposed to those that invest in fossil fuels.

These types of market trends need to be accelerated by putting a price on carbon emissions and to do that, we need to put a price on denial in politics, says Gore. He adds this denial industry is a constant despite 99 percent of scientists and scientific organizations affirming climate change exists

Gore is also the chairman and founder of the Climate Reality Project. He conducted a presentation at SXSW and highlighted weather patterns and events caused by human disturbance and negligence. His presentation also tackled issues conerning the Middle East and ongoing climate change problems.

Gore also suggests that extreme weather changes have caused the drought in the Middle East and has contributed to the flight of Syrian refugees fleeing to cities already brimming with other refugees from the Iraq war.

The presentation also showed a slide of Pope Francis that said the Pope is also gravely concerned about global warming and its ravaging effects on the planet. The Pope has asked Christians to stand up and fight climate change. The Pope is also expected to release a document about climate change this June or July.

The presentation took up a hefty one and half hours and Gore revealed many facts about climate change and pivotal steps being taken to reduce the planet's carbon emissions. He also says Bangladesh has been installing rooftop solar panels in cities and rural areas.

Gore is also responsible for the 2006 Academy Award winning documentary, "An Inconvenient Truth" that focuses on global warming and its effects on the planet.
