No Charges Filed For Palin Family Sept. 6 Anchorage Party Brawl

Alaska authorities said Thursday no charges would be filed against Sarah Palin and her family members for their part in a drunken Anchorage party brawl last month.

In doing so, Anchorage police released details about the brawl that add details to those disclosed through social media accounts at the time of the Sept. 6 party.

The party featured heavy drinking, name-calling, lots of fighting including sucker punches and bloody shirts. The thrilla in Anchorage began when the Palins rolled into the scene riding a stretch white Hummer and all hell broke loose, according to the police report.

The police report released Thursday addressed the presence of Sarah and Todd Palin along with daughters Bristol, 23, and Willow, 20 and son Track, 26. The reports said officers arriving at the scene saw a bloodied Track Palin being led into the stretch vehicle.

Track Palin had a bloody mouth, injury under his left eye and bloody hands, police said. Officer John Daly wrote in the report that Track Palin appeared intoxicated and "acted belligerent at first," but Sarah Palin told him to speak to police. However, Daly said he had a tough time getting Track Palin to calm down. Sarah Palin later declined to speak to police, they said.

Track Palin's story to officers was that some men at the party were trash talking to Willow and Bristol Palin. He confronted them, took off his shirt ready to fight, but was sucker punched from behind.

The house owner, previously reported to be a former Willow Palin boyfriend, was said by Todd Palin to have knocked Bristol Palin to the ground. Police said Bristol Palin seemed "heavily intoxicated and upset." She said the fight began when another girl hit Willow Palin.

Reports at the time said Bristol Palin was seen swinging haymaker right punches at the party host and others. A partygoer, Matthew McKenna, told police he witnessed Bristol Palin punching house owner, champion snowmobiler Korey Klingenmeyer, six times in the face. Klingenmeyer didn't respond and the punching stopped when "a group of wives" tackled Bristol Palin to the ground, police said.

Klingenmeyer then picked up Bristol Palin and took her to the street where Sarah Palin asked what happened and was told to leave the party. That's when another fight started, police said.

Todd Palin then got involved, according to witnesses, asking Klingenmeyer if he had called his daughter "a bitch," police said. Willow Bristol flipped an obscene finger gesture at Klingenmeyer and police separated the battling parties.

Klingenmeyer told police the situation resulted from "one big misunderstanding" due to people consuming too much alcohol and talking trash.

Nobody pressed charges, so police left the scene after it was contained.
