Reports claim Apple designated Samsung its primary supplier of the next A-series chips that will power iOS devices starting 2016.

With 80 percent of Apple's AP requirements in 2016, Samsung's profits could be in the billions of dollars. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company could pick up the last A9 supply contract from Apple.

Apple is said to have chosen Samsung over TSMC because of the former's 14 nm FinFET processing technology said to have better energy consumption and efficiency.

Samsung is also collaborating with GlobalFoundries to accelerate the A9 chip mass production and lower production costs. According to reports, Apple and Samsung's partnership is considered suitable with the Cupertino tech giant's production and release calendars in 2016 for the iPhone 7.

Rumors about the next iPhone have started. The latest one is about an all-screen iPhone  that eliminates bezels and provides a larger display while maintaining a small device footprint at a maximum of 5-inch.

The render applies to the current iPhone screen, which stretches diagonally to 4.7-inches. Based on Apple's past release dates, the iPhone 7 with an A9 application processor could be released in September 2016.
