As the hosts, South Korea could take advantages of the Hwaseong Stadium that near Seoul. However, in the 90 minutes' march, they could not unlock the crowded Chinese defense in this four-nation tournament.
China just finished a hard competition and held Japan 3-3 on Sunday. Other side, South Korea achieved a goalless draw against Australia on Saturday. Both teams want to acquire their first win in Wednesday's match.
In this match, both China and South Korea had several chances but their forwards failed to convert any of them into a goal.
In the East Asian Cup three years ago, China once beat South Korea with a 3-0 big win. South Koreans regard this time as a good opportunity to revenge. In order to strive for the win, South Korea changed their squad a lot for the first team compared with the one used in last match. Meanwhile, China also switched some players to respond to South Korea's challenge.
South Korea's attach was fierce. Yeom Kihum's curling free-kick from just outside the area breached China's defensive wall but was kept out by China's goalkeeper Zeng Cheng. No matter Go Mooyul's or Kim Shinwook's powerful headers all missed the target. Due to China's goalkeeper Zeng Cheng's excellent performance that pulled out a couple of spectacular saves in the first half, China kept the draw after the first half finished. In the second half, both teams all didn't have any good chance and kept the 0-0 score till the end of this match.
