In the latest NBA news, LeBron James believes his arch rival Kevin Durant can become the NBA's all-time leading scorer.

The two best players in the world today faced off in Cleveland with winning streaks in tow. OKC has won their last six contests while the Cavs have taken their last three. One of the streaks will have to stop, and it was the Thunder's.

In a hotly contested game, the Cavs came out on top, 104-100. In the last play, while the Cavs had a three point lead, Kevin Durant missed a three pointer to tie the game but the James lost the ball and possession went back to OKC.

Russell Westbrook managed to fake off LeBron but missed their last chance to tie the game. The King was fouled, made his first free throw to seal the final score and missed the second to let the remaining 0.3 seconds lapse.

In an AP report, (h/t NBC Sports) it was noted that James scored 33 points and added 11 assists and nine rebounds. Tristan Thompson had 15 rebounds for the Cavs, who are now 11-1 at home. Russell Westbrook scored 27 and Kevin Durant 25 for the Thunder.

Despite the loss, James had great respect for his greatest competitor, former MVP Kevin Durant. He believes that Durant may end becoming the NBA's all-time leading scorer as he shared with ESPN.

"He's a 7-footer with 6-foot ballhandling skills and a jump shot," James said "And athleticism. It's never been done in our league. Never had a guy that's 7-foot, can jump like that, can shoot like that, handle the ball like that. So it sets him apart."

He notes that Durant may have scoring skills that could rival Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, the NBA's record holder for points scored throughout his career.

"His ability to score the ball is obviously up there with the greatest to ever play," James said. "I know that's not in his memory bank right now, him trying to help the team get better and better, but long term he definitely can challenge that."

Most observers noted that this game could be a preview of the NBA Finals, but Golden State and San Antonio stand in the way.
