The former Connecticut Huskies hotshot went 9 for 18 from the field and connected five three-pointers, along with four clutch free throws down the stretch.

"He's a different shooter," coach Steve Clifford, who guided the Hornets to a 35-28 record, said. "He's put so much work in and right now he's in such a rhythm."

The 2011 NCAA Final Four Most Outstanding Player has scored at least 20 points in 12 of the last 13 games they played and during that span the Hornets won 11 games and just lost twice.

"Kemba played great and made big plays for them," Pelicans head coach Alvin Gentry said. "They're playing great basketball. Steve's done a great job of changing the way they play. They changed the way they usually play by spreading the floor and going small when Al (Jefferson) is not in there."

Charlotte capped the first half with an eleven-point lead 71-60. But the Pelicans made a 30-28 run to cut the deficit to a single digit nine-point lead 99-90 going in to the fourth quarter of the match.

In the final period of the game, Douglas tied the game to 109 all after downing a three-pointer with over three minutes to go. Walker made six straight points to put Charlotte back in the front seat 115-109 with1:35 minutes to play.

Grizzlies' Holiday made both free-throws after being fouled by Batum to make it 117-111 with 70 seconds remaining but Walker sank a trey to further increase their lead to nine with just 26.2 ticks to play and secure the victory.

Anthony Davis scored 40 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, while Jure Holiday had a season-high 38 points for the injury-plagued Pelicans, who have lost five of their last six games.
