Foo Fighters Releases Teaser for Their New Album ‘Sonic Highways’

Three years after the release of Wasting Light, Foo Fighters have officially stated the birth of their eighth studio effort, Sonic Highways, which is set to be released on November 10, 2014.

True to its name, the band recorded the songs as they travelled through different cities. Each song gives way to a guest musician who hails from the city where the song was recorded in.

Guest musicians include Cheap Trick's Rick Nielsen from Chicago, Gary Clark. Jr. from Austin, and Joe Walsh of the Eagles from Los Angeles.

HBO covered the creation of the album and travelled with the band. The series showing the coverage will premiere in October. Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl will direct the series efficiently entitled Foo Fighters: Sonic Highways.

The vinyl album will come out in nine different covers which depict the cities the band went to, including Chicago, Austin, New York, Seattle, Lost Angeles, New Orleans, Nashville , New York, and Washington, D.C.

Sonic Highways tracklist is composed of eight songs: Something From Nothing, The Feast And The Famine, Congregation, What Did I Do?/God As My Witness, Outside, In the Clear, Subterranean, and I Am A River.

Foo Fighters is an American rock band from Seattle founded by Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl as a project right after Kurt Cobain's death and the eventual disbanding of Nirvana.

Grohl recruited drummer William Goldsmith, bassist Nate Mendel, and guitarist Pat Smear for the completion of the Foo Fighters line up. The current line up consists of Grohl, Mendel, Smear, Taylor Hawkins, and Chris Shiflett.
