Former NBA Journeyman Earl Clark to Play in Turkey After Stint in China

Turkish professional basketball team Besiktas Sompo Japan has reportedly agreed on terms to hire the services of former NBA player Earl Clark who played for the Chinese National Basketball League club Henan Shedian Laojiu this season, according to Asia-Basket report.

The 28-year-old native of Plainfield, New Jersey has been averaging an impressive 31.1 points, 12.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.2 blocked shots in the 24 official matches that he played for Henan.

Clark is listed 6-ft-10-in (2.08 meter) tall and weighs 234 pounds (106 kg). He played college basketball at the University of Louisville Cardinals from 2006-2009, where he appeared for a total of 104 games while posting averages of 10.6 points, 7.0 boards, 1.7 assists and 1.2 block shots in 26.7 minutes on the hard wood.

Clark was drafted in the first round as the 14th overall pick by the Phoenix Suns in the 2009 NBA Draft. Clark appeared in 51 official games with the Suns in the league's 2009-10 season and registered an average of 7.5 minutes of playing time while scoring 2.7 points per contest.

He also played for the Orlando Magic after being traded in December 2010. In his stint with the club, Clark saw his playing minutes increase. In the 2010-11 season, he played for 45 matches averaging 2.7 points and 2.8 rebounds in 12.4 minutes.

Clark was traded in August 2012 and played for the Los Angeles Lakers. With the Kobe Bryant-led team, he played 59 games with averages of 7.3 points and 5.5 rebounds in an extended playing time of 23.1 minutes on the hardcourt.

Clark has also played for the Brooklyn Nets, New York Knicks and Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA and had stints with the Bakersfield Jam, Rio Grande Valley Vipers and Iowa Energy in the NBA D-League.
