The website RT.com insisted the report linking the monument removal to Cook's sexuality is a PR hoax. It cited a letter from the press service of the St. Petersburg State University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics that the reason behind the move was to fix its sensor screen. Fontanka.ru, a local news site, said that the university received a letter - before the Apple CEO admitted he is gay - from ZEFS that it would remove the monument to have it fixed because the screen was malfunctioning. read more
