Honda's all new Gienia debuted at the 2016 Chengdu Auto Show in China last weekend.
The hatchback based on the Honda City would be produced in China via Honda's joint venture with Dongfeng, Car Scoops reported. Described as a "compact crossover hatchback," the new Gienia displays some similarity to the new Civic hatchback, although it is smaller.

The Geinia is a five-door hatchback that shares its platform with the fourth generation Honda Griez sedan, which is also manufactured by Dongfeng Honda, according to NDTV. It has a length of 4,517 mm, width of 1,705 mm, height of 1,477 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,600 mm.
Although the official specs have not been released yet, NDTV said it will potentially possess the same 1.5-liter iVTEC petrol engine like the Honda City in India and would produce 127 bhp and 155Nm of torque. Its engine, on the other hand, is expected to be a five-speed manual transmission or a CVT.
It will also sport a black grille designed with a chrome strip, projector headlamps, and a new bumper. Its rear part would feature tail lamps connected by a reflector strip, a chrome-accented bumper, and a boot lid-mounted spoiler, according to NDTV.
Honda's Gienia would compete with cars such as the Citroen c-Elysse, Volkswagen Jetta, and the brand new Chevrolet Cavalier.
The Gienia is specifically made for China, and there are no plans for export or production to other countries, Forbes reported. It would go on sale in China next month.
