One of England's premier strikers, Watford FC's Odion Ighalo, recently admitted that an "unfinished business" in the English Premier League is the reason why he rejected an opportunity to play in the Chinese Super League.

Fox Sports Asia reported that the 27-year-old Nigeria international confessed that he "still has unfinished business in England" and that he will "one day make a move to Chinese football" even as he clarified that he is happy where he is right now.

Speculations abound in the recently closed summer transfer window that Chinese first division giants Shanghai SIPG offered the Hornets £38M for Ighalo's services during deadline day, but that the 6-foot-2 Lagos, Nigeria native turned down the lucrative offer as he is not yet ready to leave England.

"I'm not moved by the money from China. When the time comes, I will go to China," said Ighalo. "This is not the time to go to go to China. The money is big, the money is crazy, I know. And I am not Cristiano Ronaldo, I'm not Messi. I'm not rich, but I'm contented with what I have, I thank God for what I have."

"Week in, week out, my mum and my siblings watch me in action in the best league in the world. This is the best league in the world and I hope to keep giving my best every week there. And so, I still have unfinished business in England," he added.

Ighalo had recently signed a five-year contract extension with Watford last month.

Meanwhile, the Daily Star indicated that "Watford were ready to cash in but Ighalo did not want to head to the Far East at this stage of his career".

The Hornets were rumored to be prepared to sell Ighalo to interested suitors, even to foreign buyers, as Ighalo is currently in a long Premier League goal drought.

The former Udinese and Granada strike man has failed to score for head coach Walter Mazzarri's side in their first three games of the new season as the team remained winless as well.

Ighalo netted 15 times in 37 appearances in the Premier League last term.
