Despite the low market penetration of the iPhone 6 in 2015, Apple is optimistic that Chinese users would be interested in the iPhone 7 in 2016.
China was one of the first places where the iPhone 7 was released together with the US and the UK. The country has also been added to Apple's 'iPhone Upgrade Program.'

Apple hiked the price of the iPhone 6 after its launch because of its large screen size. The company has also hiked the retail price of the iPhone 7 by 300 yuan ($45).
The price hike is aimed at retaining the company's profit margin as the Yuan has depreciated in value.
The iPhone 6 and 6S are retailing at 6088 yuan ($914) and 6388 yuan ($1034) respectively, but the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are being sold for 6388 yuan ($959) and 7188 yuan ($1079).
Users have complained of the steep retail price of the Apple devices over the years.
Apple's lead competitor Samsung has opted for a different strategy by reducing the selling price of its gadgets globally.
Retailing at 5998 yuan ($900), the Samsung Note 7, which comes with a 4GB RAM and 64GB internal memory, is one of the many competitions that the iPhone 7 is facing in China.
