Chinese Judo Expert Yuan Yanping Claims Her Third Straight Paralympic Title in Rio

Judo expert Yuan Yanping of China won her third consecutive judo women +70kg title by beating Khayitjon Alimova of Uzbekistan at the 2016 Summer Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on Saturday.
According to Xinhua, the 40-year-old Yuan secured the victory with an ippon and a yuko at the Carioca Arena 3.

The native of Dalian, Liaoning, who was born with severe myopia, also dominated the same event in the last two Paralympic Games held in Beijing in 2008 and London in 2012.
"She [Alimova] is an old opponent," Yuan said. "We have fought many matches together, and she's improved a lot recently.
"But I fully implemented the strategy of my coaches, to take my time, I didn't rush in. But this is not my best performance, I've done better in previous competitions," she added.
In the bronze medal match, Mesme Tasbag of Turkey got the better of Bulgaria's Arina Kachan.
Meanwhile, in the swimming competition, Peng Qiuping broke her world record to secure the top honor in the women's 50m backstroke S3.
Peng, 22, clocked 48.49 seconds at the Olympic Aquatics Stadium to surpass her previous record of 49.91.
Her Chinese teammate Meng Guofen took silver in 51.42, and the Dutch Lisette Teunissen bagged the bronze in 53.44.
In the women's 50m butterfly event, Chinese teenager Xu Xihan defeated Sarah Louise Rung of Norway to win gold.
Xu, 16, touched the line in 43.62 seconds, 2.05 seconds ahead of the Norwegian swimmer, while Giulia Ghiretti of Italy claimed bronze.
China has kept its strong hold at the top of the medal standings after three days of the competition winning 26 gold, 24 silver and 19 bronze medals.
Great Britain remains in the second spot with 15 gold medals, followed by Ukraine (12), United States (eight) and host Brazil (five).
