Faye Wong to Make Stage Comeback with Shanghai Concert

Faye Wong will return to the stage with a concert scheduled later this year, the pop diva announced on Friday (Sept. 9).

Wong revealed that she will be holding a concert at Shanghai's Mercedes Benz Arena in December, her first show in six years, according to AsiaOne.

The concert, titled "Faye's Moments Live 2016," will be streamed live by Chinese Internet behemoth Tencent, and fans will be able to enjoy her performance no matter where they are.

Wong said that she will perform more than 20 songs against on a "dreamy" stage. "I will sing some of the hits, along with the songs that are my favorites but I rarely perform at concerts," said Wong. "I have never been too ambitious about my career. I don't listen to much music these days either. I just do what I like," she added.

When asked about whether there will be multiple concerts, the 47-year-old had this to say: "This is not a farewell concert. Probably I will have tours in the future, but this time I just want to hold one concert."

Wong's partner, songwriter and producer Zhang Yadong, who has written many of the singer's songs, including her latesr single "Dust" and produced some of her popular albums such as "Restless," "Lovers & Strangers" and "Fable" will serve as the music director at the Shanghai concert.

The last time Wong stepped on stage was during her 2010 tour and the musician has since been recording tracks only for movies, according to China.org. The exact date of the concert has not confirmed but it is expected to be announced soon, along with the ticket price.
