A statement from the Communist Party of China's Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) said the officials received punishments that ranged from an in-Party warning to immediate dismissal.
A case example is Yang Ziqiang, the assistant governor of the People's Bank of China.
Yang was issued with an in-Party warning after he was found to have misused public funds estimated at 14,473 yuan ($2,167) to treat his relatives in Qingdao Shandong Province in 2014.
The Eight-Point-Regulation were introduced by the Political Bureau of the communist party and approved by President Xi Jinping and the General Secretary of the communist party at the end of 2012.
The main purpose of the regulation is to deal with cases of bureaucracy, formalism, and extravagance among other undesirable work practices.
The greatest crackdown was witnessed on July 2016 after a total of 26,900 officials were punished for breaking the rules. The most common crime was awarding unrecognized bonuses. Misuse of public vehicles and sending or accepting gifts stood were the second and third most common crime.
