Chinese Paralympic swimming champion Lin Ping bagged her second gold medal after ruling the women's 200-meter individual medley SM9 in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday.
According to Xinhua, the 22-year-old Lin touched the wall to register an official time of two minutes 35.64 seconds, just 20 hundredths of a second ahead of the two-time IPC World Championship winner Sarai Gascon of Spain. British Para swimmer Amy Marren settled for the bronze medal following her 2:36.26 Paralympic performance.

Lin also won gold in the event of 50-meter freestyle S9 four years ago in the previous 2012 London Paralympic Games.
"Never did I think I would win a medal here" Lin stated. "I just wanted to go fast and to pay back my coach. My coach and her husband have been training me for 10 years. We are like a family. For the last year, we have had private training together, spending all our time together."
This was Lin's fourth Paralympic gold medal, having won the same event at the Beijing 2008 and London 2012 Games in addition to the team Class 3 title in London.
In the other event of the day, China's Feng Panfeng claimed his third consecutive Paralympic table tennis singles class 3 gold medal by defeating Thomas Schmidberger of Germany in four sets.
The 26-year-old elite Chinese paddler took the match 11-5, 7-11, 11-9, 11-8 in 27 minutes at Riocentro. There was a further disappointment for Germany in the bronze medal contest as Thomas Bruchle was beaten by Florian Merrien of France 14-12, 7-11, 11-8, 11-13, 11-5, according to Inside the Game.
