Chinese Cops Announce 100,000 Yuan Bounty on Woman Who Gouged Boy’s Eyes

The cops of China's Shanxi's province have announced bounty on a woman who has gouged out the eyes of a six year old boy in Fenxi County on August 24.

Police authorities on Tuesday issued a public notice in which cops had offered an award of 100,000 Yuan (16,129 US dollars) for any clues that could lead to the arrest of the accused woman.
An unidentified woman on Saturday had allegedly lured the boy, identified as Guo, to a secluded place in the fields after which she gouged out his eyes.
Guo was found lying unconscious in the field few hours later by his family members who had launched a manhunt after he didn't returned to his home. Guo was rushed to a nearby hospital from where he was referred to Shanxi Eye Hospital in Taiyuan.
The doctors of Shanxi Eye Hospital that are taking care of the boy said that though his eyes have been recovered, Guo will have to spend the rest of his life as blind.
Investigating officials said that they are now looking for motives that led to commission of this ghastly act while ruling out the possibility of organ trafficking angle in the case.
Meanwhile, his peasant parents claimed that they didn't any enmity with anyone and they are still confused as to what had driven the accused to commit such a ghastly crime.
On the other hand, the Shanxi provincial health officials had suggested that expenses incurred on the medical treatment of the boy might be reduced or exempted, keeping in mind the poor family background of Guo.
Soon after the incident was reported in the media, there has been huge public outrage on the crime on internet and social networking sites and the case had topped the hot topic list of China's popular microblogging service Sina Weibo which is similar to Twitter.
