Struggling team Beijing Guoan FC finally earned its first win after a four-game winless slide after blanking lowly squad Liaoning Whowin FC, 2-0, at the Shenyang Olympic Sports Center Stadium on Wednesday.
The capital city club has not tasted victory in their past four matches, which resulted in them dropping to 10th place in the 16-team China top flight table.

Their streak began with a 0-0 draw against defending champions Guangzhou Evergrande, then a two-game losing skid to Chongqing Lifan and Jiangsu Suning with the same score of 1-2 on Aug. 12 and 21 before the international break. They then went into a fourth consecutive winless performance after a 2-2 tie with powerhouse squad Shanghai SIPG on Sep. 9, as per Soccerway.
Wednesday's triumph was the first time the Imperial Guards experienced a win since their 1-0 home victory over Hangzhou Greentown last July.
Turkish striker Burak Yilmaz provided both of the goals for head coach Xie Feng's side. After a goalless first half of play, he opened the scoring with a penalty kick at the 77th minute then followed it up with a goal at the 89th off an assist from Brazilian midfielder Renato Augusto, who just came back from his international duty in the recent CONMEBOL World Cup qualifiers, via Sofa Score.
With the win, Beijing jumped up to 7th place with 32 points as they had overtaken Whowin, Yanbian Funde, and Henan Jianye in the overall standings.
However, the team is still nine points behind third-running squad Shanghai Greenland Shenhua, who is currently holding the third and last AFC Champions League berth for the next term, with only seven games left in their campaign this season.
Meanwhile, Liaoning remained at the 11th spot of the league table after the loss, which was their second in their last three matches.
Head coach Ma Lin's squad is also having difficulty finding wins as of late as they had only won once in their past five fixtures.
