Hong Kong table tennis national player Ho Kwan Kit has won the Under-21 men's singles title at the 2016 ITTF World Tour China Open after defeating Yuto Muramatsu of Japan with an impressive 3-0 victory on Thursday.
Although Grand Slam winners Ma Long, Zhang Jike, and Ding Ning did not appear in Thursday's matches, lively crowds still made the young paddlers feel like stars at the Sichuan Gymnasium, according to Xinhua.

The professional Chinese table tennis decorated superstars will take the center stage on Friday in the singles first round action and the doubles quarterfinals of the tournament.
Ho, 19, who was featured in the recently concluded 2016 Summer Olympic Games in the city of Rio de Janeiro last month, got the upper hand early in the match after taking the first game with an 11-6 victory.
In the second game, the Hong Kong table tennis star trailed by 8-10 but played with a lot of aggressiveness and successfully scored four straight points in a row to take the game at 12-10. With the momentum on his side, Ho easily controlled the third set and comfortably outclassed Muramatsu by a runaway 11-4 to claim the tournament's crown.
"I think that I have some advantages against him, so I always feel confident in today's final," Ho said, adding that the experience in the Rio Olympics would help him a lot in his career.
"Hope that I can get good results in Tokyo in 2020, so I need to get stronger in the future," he said.
Ho is currently ranked No. 53 in the latest ITTF world rankings. He has garnered a total of 2274 ranking points.
Meanwhile, Doo Hoi Kem was not so fortunate to claim the title after losing to Zeng Jian of Singapore 3-0 in the Under-21 women's singles event. The top-seeded Doo surrendered to Zeng 11-6, 13-11, and 11-9.
