Middling team Chongqing Lifan FC held third-running squad Shanghai Greenland Shenhua FC to a 2-2 draw at the Hongkou Stadium last Friday to stay undefeated in their last two games.

Shenhua team captain Giovanni Moreno opened the game's scoring at the 22nd minute with an individual move against Chongqing goalkeeper Deng Xiaofei, as per Soccerway.

Ten minutes later, the home team doubled their lead with a shot from local midfielder Cao Yunding from a pass by former Seattle Sounders striker Obafemi Martins, giving head coach Gregorio Manzano's side a 2-0 lead at the halftime break.

However, the visitors, who were defeated by the Flower of Shanghai, 0-1, in their first meeting this season at the Chongqing Olympic Sports Center, clawed their way back in the second half with two goals of their own.

Eight minutes into the restart, attacking midfielder Wang Dong cut the lead to 1-2 off an assist from teammate Wu Qing, via Sofa Score.

Afterward, at the 80th minute, two of head coach Chang Woe-ryong's imports, Brazilian forwards Fernandinho and Alan Kardec, completed a give-and-go play to finally equalize the match, with the former hitting the goal from the latter's cross.

The draw was Chongqing's third unbeaten performance in the team's last four assignments to get themselves into a bit of a streak. It allowed them to stay at the 10th spot of the current China top flight table, a comfortable eight points above the bottom two relegation zone currently held by Changchun Yatai and Shijiazhuang Ever Bright, with only five games left in their campaign this season.

Meanwhile, Shanghai Shenhua stayed at the third spot despite being tied on points with fourth-place team Shanghai SIPG as the Hongkou residents have the advantage on head-to-head points over their cross-city rivals.
