Former guitarist and member of Scottish alternative rock band Primal Scream Robert 'Throb' Young has passed away at the age of 49 last September 9, 2014.

It was already confirmed by numerous media outlets that the former guitarist for Primal Scream, Robert 'Throb' Young has died after police reports from Sussex concluded so.

According to media reports, Robert was found dead in his flat which is located in Hove last September 9, Tuesday at 3:30 PM local time. This was confirmed by a spokesperson for the former band member via a media outlet.

"He has been identified as Robert Young, 49, of Hove. His death is not being treated as suspicious," the representative said in a released statement.

The cause of death hasn't yet been confirmed.

The 49-year old guitarist's close friends, including his former band mates, Liam Gallagher and Tim Burgess have posted their messages via Twitter to offer their condolences to the family of the late musician.

Stone Roses, one of Young's former band mates, posted a message on their website for Primal Scream, also confirming the news that the guitarist died last weekend, and expressed his devastation over it.

Bobby Gillespie as well as Andrew Innes also posted their own messages, expressing their sorrow over losing a 'comrade and brother'. They have described the late guitarist as a 'deeply soulful' man and an 'irreplaceable talent' who is greatly admired by the people around him.

He was known among his peers as someone who is a true rocker who 'walked the walk'. His band mates remember him saying, "When we go onstage, it's a war between us and the audience," whenever they had performances.

Other celebrities have also taken to Twitter to post their messages for the family of the rock star.

Robert Young is survived by his wife Rachel, two sons, Miles and Brandon and his mother Jane.
