While many fans are lining up just to get their hands on Apple's latest handset, Wang Sicong, the son of China's richest man Wang Jianlin, bought his dog, Coco the Alaskan malamute, eight units of the iPhone 7 on the day of its release, CNN reported based on photos posted on the dog's official social media account.

Wang posted images of Coco lounging on a stack of eight brand new iPhone 7 units on September 16, the first day that the iPhone 7 hit the market.
Speaking as his dog on Coco's Twitter-like Weibo account, which has about 1.9 million followers, Wang wrote "Not sure what people are showing off on social media about. There is nothing to show off. I was forced to take action."
The photos have made rounds on the Internet and received thousands of shares and comments. Some netizens said the dog is cute, while others asked Wang to also give them an iPhone 7. However, some users criticized Wang's action. CNN quoted one user saying: "I don't understand all the show off posts on [social media]."
Apple's iPhone 7 Plus in China has a price tag of 7,988 yuan ($1,197).
This, however, is not the first time Wang has splurged money on Coco.
Last year, Wang, dubbed as "the nation's husband," was also criticized after he posted images of his spoiled pooch wearing two Apple Watches, one for each paw, worth more than $37,000, Mashable reported.
Aside from the luxury branded gifts like a pink Fendi handbag, wads of cash, and countless costumes, Wang, who is one of the richest entrepreneurs under the age of 30 in China, loves to throw lavish parties for Coco, according to Metro.
