The government of China is committed towards bringing back to the country the alleged corrupt officials who already went overseas, as it intensifies its corruption crackdown.
The Ministry of Public Security said on Wednesday that they are not only going to ensure the return of corrupt officials who have fled out of the country, but also to re-acquire all assets they allegedly obtained illegally.

According to an official from the ministry, a new system was developed to track and trace the alleged illegal activities of the corrupt officials. Called the Fox hunt 2016, the new mechanism will enable the government to prove the case other than the usual evidences required in the past.
"As part of the new initiative, public security authorities will work closely with the People's Bank of China, particularly the division that cracks down on money laundering," said the official. "A large number of corrupt officials have transferred billions of yuan in illegal funds to their foreign accounts."
A joint partnership with other countries has also been developed to help enhance communication while conducting joint investigations.
Accordingly, the United States, Canada and Australia have been a great hiding place for the corrupt officials due to the differences in law and lack of bilateral extradition.
The Chinese official also noted that the initiative, which kicked off in April this year has nabbed 409 allegedly corrupt officials from 61 countries and regions so far.
"Thirty eight former officials charged with corruption are among those arrested," added the official. "Several more fugitives will be extradited from Europe and South America in the near future."
The new system , however, was not welcomed by other states positively. The US government issued a warning to the Chinese government to stop miscellaneous activities on American soil.
This is after Chinese secret agents were found to be entering the United States posing as tourists only to arrive and began a hunt for the alleged corrupt officials.
