Tottenham Hotspur FC is set to join China's youth football development initiatives as the English Premier League club will kick off a year-long program that will target the country's "grassroots level."
The Spurs will partner with Jaguar Land Rover China in the implementation of the program that will primarily be held in the city of Guangzhou. It will also be done in cooperation with the Guangzhou Education Bureau and the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation.

Through the program, Tottenham will train 42 physical education teachers in the advanced level of coaching football via methods used at the Spurs' academy in England.
The trained teachers will then pass on their learnings to "8,000 primary and middle school students in Guangzhou" during the course of the year, according to Reuters.
Aside from the intense one-on-one training sessions with the teachers that will be done throughout the whole year, Tottenham's global coaching team will also directly spend time with the young football players together with their local coaches from time to time.
"We understand the importance of football development in China and, given our track record, we are perfectly placed to harness the talent and passion for the game in China to help develop young players who could become future stars of the game," said Grant Cowell, the Spurs' global coaching head.
Part of the agenda is to bring 40 underprivileged kids of Guangzhou to England for the Jaguar China-UK Football and Cultural Exchange in November, which includes a week of rigorous training right at the Premier League club's own training center.
The said activity is part of Jaguar Land Rover China Children & Youth Dream Fund, which was also introduced together with the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation in 2014.
"Youth football development has been a cornerstone of the Dream Fund since its inception in May 2014," said Richard Shore, acting Regional President of Jaguar Land Rover China. "In partnership with the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation, our football programs are benefitting 30,000 Chinese children over three years until 2017."
