All new cases that were reported in China till June this year, 70 percent HIV/AIDS patients have contracted the disease due to unprotected heterosexual practices while 20 percent of them got infected after indulging in unprotected homosexual activities and in rest of the cases, the disease was transmitted by injecting drugs and through blood transfusion.

At present, around 230,000 Chinese people have been tested positive for HIV/AIDS and they are receiving anti-retroviral treatments when these medicines were first introduced in Chinese hospitals in 2004.

The disease prevention experts say that around 48,000 to 50,000 new cases of HIV/AIDS infection are being reported in the country every year.

In most of these cases, it has been found that Chinese people don't use condoms or lubricants properly due to which the risk of getting infected with HIV or other sexually transmitted diseases is increasing day by day.

Chinese government has launched several campaigns jointly conducted by government departments and LGBT groups to promote safe sex and spread aware on treatment of HIV/AIDS but many people in the county didn't know how to take preventive measures.

A majority of young Chinese people in the age group of 15 and 24, who indulge in heterosexual practices, have been tested positive for the deadly virus that calls more action to promote appropriate sex education in the country.

The Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention official said that the government has launched various programs to reduce new HIV/AIDS infections by 25 percent and mortality by 30 percent by the end of 2015.
