Nintendo declared they'll release a playable demo of the 3DS version of Super Smash Bros in North America on September 19.
The announcement was made during the Nintendo's live stream on Friday.
The playable demo consists of the similar content seen in the recent Japanese demo release. There are five characters (Mario, Link, Pikachu, Villager, and Mega Man) and the Battlefield stage shown in the demo.

The demo will also include support for local multiplayer and can be opened no more than 30 minutes.
Players can play the game ahead of its release date. Members of Club Nintendo who reached Platinum status between July 1, 2013, and June 30, 2014 that have registered 3DS hardware and software, and have elected to receive Club Nintendo emails, will be sent an email today granting them four codes for early access to the demo.
The game will feature 49 characters, including the dog from Duck Hunt, as well as Dark Pit from Kid Icarus. It will also have new characters like Palutena, Mii Fighters, Greninja, Little Mac, Rosalina & Luma, Villager, Mega Man, Wii Fit Trainer, and Robin.
Super Smash Bros. for 3DS will be release in North America on October 3. The Wii U version will be launched later this year.
