Idris Elba believes that hard work is the reason why he has garnered the success he is now enjoying.
Like most people, Elba shared with the New York Times Magazine that he had to work while trying to pursue his dream.
The "No Good Deed" actor shared that before he became famous, he used to work the night shift at a Ford factory in England.

"I find that a lot of actors who are good and open to challenges have lived a full life," he shared, adding,
"When you walk into an audition, you have more to say for yourself because you come from the real world. It's more enticing for directors, I think," Elba shared.
With a full life, the actor, who always played good characters in the past, is now delving into a more devious character in his new flick "No Good Deed" where he plays Colin, a serial killer, alongside Oscar nominee, Taraji P. Henson.
When talking about his new role, Elba shared that he wasn't too comfortable with the violence and, that he had to beat up a woman in the movie. However, he joked, "Taraji got some punches in once or twice." He said that through his research, he realized that characters like Colin don't "have a conscious stop button" like the rest of us and that their backgrounds and upbringing have a lot to do with how they react and act in certain situations.
Knowing how parenting has a major impact on how kids grow up to be, Elba shared that he certainly puts great importance on how he raises his own kids. "I love, love children. I love being a dad; it's one of the joys of life. In fact, you can take it all away from me tomorrow, but don't take away my children," he shared.
