With China being one of the most important markets for airlines, the so-called no-frills aviation company, Nok Air, is looking to gain a foothold in the booming Chinese market.
The company will make its debut in the country with scheduled flights to Guangzhou and Kunming. Nok Air has yet to finalize its timetable and fare structure.

China is inducted as the third international destination to Nok Air's network, which serves from Don Mueang airport and flies to Vietnam and Myanmar.
Nok Air CEO Patee Sarasin said, "China is clearly a very big market with significant traffic flow."
He further stated that the airlines will focus on high-end of the market with its Chinese services.
It is expected that the airline will start its operations in China with three to four flights a week for each of its routes. The company may later increase the frequency of flights to daily operations.
Nok Air is currently boosting its jet aircraft capacity that is anticipated to reach 23, particularly for its Boeing 737-800 fleet.
Nok Air is likely to face stiff competition from other airlines such as Thai Lion Air and Thai AirAsia. Thai Lion Air recently announced its daily flights from Don Mueang Airport to Guangzhou, which will start on Oct. 28. Thai AirAsia also runs flights to Kunming and Guangzhou.
China is important to Thai tourism market as the number of Chinese tourists visiting Thailand rose 71 percent in 2015, or equivalent to 7.9 million tourists. Nok Air expects the flights to commence in December this year.
