Samsung has released a teaser over its Weibo account for a new smartphone that will be launched in China.

The teaser image posted on the South Korean company's Weibo account displayed a metal-clad device because of the antenna lines running horizontally above the camera module. It also suggests that the device can be held easier because of its metal curves on the sides towards the back.

At the bottom of the teaser photo is the text saying “The next big thing is coming,” according to GSM Arena.

The Galaxy C9, a successor of Galaxy C5 and C7, certainly fits the description of Samsung’s famous teaser tagline. It can be noted, though, that its design is the same as the earlier Galaxy C devices.

Ahead of its official announcement, sightings of the smartphone on numerous benchmarking websites have been reported. Currently, the Samsung Galaxy C9 has been spotted on the US FCC certification, which listed it as model number SM-C9000.

Meanwhile, based on the GFXbench listing, the handset is expected to be powered by Snapdragon 652 octa-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz coupled with Adreno 510 GPU and will run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. It will have a 6GB RAM with 64GB built-in storage and microSD card slot for storage expansion.

Samsung Galaxy C9 will sport a 6-inch Super AMOLED display with full HD of 1920 x 1080 screen resolution, 16MP rear camera with LED flash, another 16MP selfie shooter, fingerprint scanner and 4000mAh battery.

For connectivity, it will reportedly support dual-SIM (hybrid), 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth v4.2 LE, GPS and NFC.

Samsung will launch Galaxy C9 in China first and will make a US debut around mid-November, Softpedia reported. It is not yet clear, though, if the device will be available in Europe and other markets.
