The 18-carat gold version of the Apple Watch sells at US$1,200 and it will go on sale by 2015.
The expensive watch is corroborated, based on size and weight, by different jewellers who know the materials that Apple uses. The price for Apple Watch edition is just an estimated one.
Jewellers suggested that it would be sub-optimal not to make the watch out of solid gold alloy.

A watch expert Chad Rickicki from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania said that the size of the case and shape of the Apple Watch made of 18-carat gold would cost about US$600 to make. Other materials of the gold edition will be made from electronics that will double up the price.
Apple's lower end sport versions will start at US$349.
It is not yet known if Apple Watch case will be made of gold-plated or a solid gold alloy.
Apple Watch will also feature a polished sapphire crystal display, and rumors have suggested the gold watches will come in special boxes that can also be used for charging.
The company also unveiled 34 models of the Apple watch. It includes the Edition gold models, Apple watch sport collection, and Apple watch collection.
The Cupertino-based company seems like turning Apple Stores into luxury destinations like Prada and Louis Vuitton.
