The final stage of Project CSX contest listed top feasible concepts the company can use for its upcoming mobile device. It asked fans and users to suggest possible ideas it could create and sell within the next rough year.
The Shenzhen-based tech firm is taking votes on these product concepts until Oct. 19, according to The Verge.
ZTE shared that the winning device concept will be selected exclusively based on the public's vote and will be officially revealed at the end of October. The final product from Project CSX will be displayed in Las Vegas and will become part of the company’s CES 2017 device lineup.
“Consumer engagement and interest in Project CSX exceeded our expectations," said Lixin Cheng, chairman and CEO of ZTE USA. "We have always put consumers first in everything we create, build, and deliver."
"We believed consumers were capable of driving the R&D process and we hope that others can learn from our example so we can advance the mobile industry collectively,” Cheng added.
The top five concepts of ZTE’s Project CSX are as follows:
Eye Tracking, Self-Adhesive Phone: Users can stick the mobile phone to a wall or flat surface and control it by glancing.
Intelligent Smartphone Covers: This concept involves functional cases that expand the usage of the smartphone.
Powerglove: A power glove that controls the user’s fingers in learning or rehabilitation settings. It will be powered by Anrdoid smartphone.
Stock Android Flagship Phone: A next generation stock Android flagship phone with improvement in performance and camera.
VR-Interactive Diving Mask: A waterproof VR mask that allows the user to swim in a pool and offers a feeling of being in the open ocean.
