Zhejiang Plastic Factory Fire Kills 8 In China

China's fire authorities are now investigating the cause of a factory fire that killed eight people Friday morning in Zhejiang Province, the state-owned Xinhua News Agency reported.

The Pinghu government has released a statement saying the blaze broke out at 7:40 a.m. Friday (China time) in a plastic factory in Dushan Township of Pinghu.
According to the Xinhua report, firefighters who responded doused off the blaze at 9 a.m. discovered the charred bodies of seven people. Another person died while receiving treatment at a nearby hospital, the statement said.
Five others suffered different degrees of burns on the different parts of their bodies and are currently receiving treatments, authorities said.
Complete details of the fire have were not yet available as of this posting. The names of the fatalities and those injured were not also readily available.
6 Killed In Residential Building Fire
Last Wednesday, six people were killed when fire broke out at the residential building in the city of Zhuzhou in the central Hunan Province, local officials announced.
The blaze engulfed 328 square feet of the residential building, sending occupants to run for their lives, one witness said. It happened so fast, said one resident. He was in his room when he heard shouts from outside. When he went out to check, thick smoke greeted him, forcing him to run for safety.
An investigation has been launched to determine the case of the fire.
