A rumored trade between the San Antonio Spurs and Golden State Warriors involving young stars Kawhi Leonard and Klay Thompson is circling online these days as the two title-contending clubs look to further improve their lineups ahead of the upcoming season.

Leonard and Thompson are both considered among the best young players today as the two continue to make a name for themselves in the NBA. Leonard is a one-time NBA champion, Finals MVP, and All-Star while Thompson has also won the NBA title once and is a two-time All-Star.

Chat Sports Net indicated that the recent comments of Milwaukee Bucks guard Jason Terry with regards to Leonard and Thompson might have sparked the trade rumors. Terry recently told reporters that he considers the two as "B-Side players."

"Let's get James Harden, move him to the side, over here in the A-side. He's an A-side performer, right? Let's go to the B-side. The B-side performers in the NBA. That is Kawhi Leonard and Klay Thompson. Those two right there," said Terry during a radio interview, according to the Inquisitr.

He then explained that "B-side" meant a "supporting cast role" that is "not really a bench player" and that the "A-side" is the legitimate superstar, specifically mentioning Harden, LeBron James, Russell Westbrook, Chris Paul, and Thompson's two-time MVP teammate Stephen Curry.

Terry was reportedly criticizing Thompson for only relying on his outside shooting and playing as Curry's sidekick being the other half of the Warriors' Splash Brothers.

"He's not leading s-t.  If he doesn't make shots, how effective is he?" Terry said.

In reality, however, the Spurs are highly unlikely to trade Leonard as the club sees him as their next franchise player now that Tim Duncan has retired. It is LaMarcus Aldridge who is more likely to be traded than Leonard at this point.

Leonard is considered by many analysts as one of the NBA's top two-way players today and is coming off an outstanding season where he averaged career-highs of 21.2 points, 2.6 assists, 1.0 blocks, and 33.1 minutes. He also had 6.8 rebounds per game and shot more than 50 percent in field goals in 72 games last season.

Meanwhile, Thompson is more likely to be traded next summer if the Warriors fail in their super-team experiment this upcoming season.
