A LaMarcus Aldridge-Paul Millsap trade is reportedly possible as the San Antonio Spurs are ready to deal their "unhappy" power forward to the Atlanta Hawks before or in the middle of the new season.

There are rumors that Aldridge is currently unhappy with his status as the number two guy in San Antonio behind rising star Kawhi Leonard. Aldridge is said to have left Portland because he did not want to play second fiddle to Damian Lillard as he had been Brandon Roy's sidekick during his early years in the NBA.

Aldridge wanted to be the main man of his team, and with the Spurs that dream may not be possible, so the five-time All-Star is expected to ask for a trade soon.

Fansided indicated that a trade with the Hawks for Millsap is something that the Spurs can look into if they are now "open to deal" Aldridge as some reports have suggested.

Atlanta is currently in need of more "star power" to ignite their fans and attract upcoming free agents. Having Aldridge with Dwight Howard in one team would fulfill that need.

Millsap is known as one of the most versatile, selfless, and disciplined players in the league. It remains to be seen, though, whether San Antonio would approve a one-on-one swap or the Hawks will have to add a few sweeteners to pull off the trade.

Meanwhile, Aldridge has recently addressed the trade rumors about him, clarifying that he is "happy" at San Antonio because they are "winning," Fox Sports reported.

"I talk to (coach Gregg Popovich) daily and he's always telling me that I'm doing great," said Aldridge. "(I'm) trying to be a more of a leader. He's put me in positions where I can be more of a leader. As long as the guys here aren't saying bad things to me. All my teammates have said nothing but great things to me."

"I'm winning. Of course I'm happy," he added. "That's why I don't buy into the rumors. I feel like I do my job here and I feel like I've done everything that they've asked. That's why I haven't bought into the rumors."
