Ever feel cold and wish you could just warm up instantly?

Two engineers have found the answer by developing the world's first intelligent heated clothing.

Alex Huang and Jason Yakimovich had concerns about the weather when they were caught in cold temperatures while heading to class. They decided to build something to remedy the situation.

They came up with their company, FuelWear.

Their company's product is a light and washable undershirt capable of instantly adding 10 degrees Celsius to a person's body temperature in -20 degrees Celsius weather.

The new clothing technology can continuously heat a person for three straight hours. It's also equipped with monitors that allows the heating feature to be turned-off when you have warmed up, and on again when you get cold.

These monitors are placed in the chest and lower back area. They're sewn into several patches of the clothing.

The undershirt's powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that can run for up to 12 hours with continuous outdoor use

The undershirt's made of premium bamboo fabric. They chose this material due to its antimicrobial property, and the fact that it can be washed.

Despite its numerous components, the undershirt's quite light: it weighs only a few hundred grams.

The two engineers began their efforts with a crowdsourcing campaign on Indiegogo. They attained their goal of US$20,000 just two days into their six week window.

They're guided by Engineering Entrepreneurship Hatchery mentors Professor Vaughn Betz and Candice Luck.

The've redesigned their original product until deciding to go with an undershirt that was a simpler and more user-friendly incarnation of their original version.
