Several western countries have reportedly committed to China that they will not become havens for corrupt officials, a move which is deemed relevant in the Asian country's fight against corruption.
This, as revealed by China's top graft official Liu Jianchao in an interview with the state television.

The reported assurance would give a huge boost to President Xi Jinping's nationwide fight to eliminate corruption from the Chinese society.
Liu was speaking on the latest episode of the state television's eight-part documentary on China's graft fight broadcasted on late Monday.
"Certain Western countries have clearly stressed that they do not want to become a haven for corrupt elements," Liu said. "This is an extremely important accomplishment, and is an extremely important political promise."
"We need other countries support, and at the same time other countries anti-graft work needs China's support," he added. "On this issue, I think it's mutually beneficial and win-win."
Liu did not address the concerns on "treatment of prisoners" during the show. The concern has apparently deterred many western countries, which have become popular hideouts for alleged Chinese fugitives, to sign a formal extradition treaty with China.
Human right organizations have been on the forefront of extraditing suspects to China for fear of torture and serious mistreatment.
With western countries unwilling to cooperate, China has been pursuing underground operation for nabbing corrupt officials. However, these secret operations have left the host countries miffed, forcing China to bring about a tactical change in its operation.
China is now apparently encouraging graft suspects to voluntarily return to China, rather than coercing them.
The strategic change in China's tactics was confirmed by Liu Jianchao in an interview given to Reuters last year.
