Oppo and Vivo are the top Phone Companies in China

(Photo : Pixabay) Oppo and Vivo are the leading smartphone companies in China in the third quarter of this year.
Chinese smartphone companies Oppo and Vivo have clinched the top spots on the list of the biggest phone companies in the country.
These two brands surpassed tough contenders including Huawei and Xiaomi. Oppo topped the list with Vivo holding the second spot. Huawei has placed third on the list.

According to the study conducted by Counterpoint Research, both Oppo and Vivo dramatically increasing their market share in the third quarter of the year. For the quarter ending in September, Oppo claimed 16.6 percent of the market, up from 9.9 percent market share in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. The company clocked an 82 percent year-on-year increase in its shipment during the quarter.
Vivo clinched the second spot with a16.2 percent market share, up from the 8.2 percent market share it held in the third quarter of 2015. The company increased its shipments by 114 percent on year-over-year. Long time chart topper Huawei declined to the third spot with its 15 percent market share. Its shipment numbers grew only four percent.
Xiaomi also reported a decline in its market share with 10.6 percent under its belt. The company commanded a 14.6 percent market share in the third quarter of 2015. Its shipment numbers grew by only one percent from the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
Both Oppo and Vivo benefited from the robust demand for their flagship brands. Oppo reported high demand for its Oppo R9 while the Vivo X7 also generated strong buzz in the market.
James Yan, research director at Counterpoint Research, said that traditional offline retail selling and wide distribution helped these companies to increase their market share.
