Aside from online shopping, Samsung Pay users in the United States can also use the service in paying for in-app purchases. Samsung Pay is also collaborating with local stores to give its customers discounts and other perks.
According to The Verge, Samsung Pay already supports online payments, but this feature is only available in the company's native country of South Korea. Samsung said online payments account for 25 percent of Samsung Pay's total processed payments.
By expanding Samsung Pay to support online payments in other international markets, users should be able to use the mobile payment system once paying online with the use of smartphones, tablets and personal computers.
The company said online payments will be activated first, followed by in-app payments and discounts, which will arrive sooner.
Among the first to support in-app payments through Samsung Pay are Hello Vino and Velocity. Through Hello Vino, users can easily purchase wines, while the Velocity app allows users to book tables in supported restaurants.
Samsung has yet to release a detailed statement regarding the promised deals and discounts for users of Samsung Pay online payment system app. Through this program, Samsung Pay users will receive discount and other perks whenever they use the system in paying for certain services and products.
