Chinese authorities have launched a search for a teacher who beat four school children using a textbook at a school in Shaanxi Province, resulting to severe injuries.
Lei Mingxing, an art teacher in a school in Ankanh, was described by his co-workers as a 'good teacher' who never showed any sign of violent behavior toward anyone.

However, several news reports stating that he beat four out of 22 children enrolled in the school where he teaches indicated otherwise.
All four of the children were rushed to a medical facility after one of the school staff found them bloodied and cowering at a corner in one of the school's rooms which was designated as Lei's office.
"I walked past his office and heard crying. As I went in I saw the pupils on the floor, very distressed and covered in blood. We've no idea what's behind this," head teacher Wang Qin stated describing how the children were after the beating.
The eldest of the children was only seven years old, the International Business Times reported on Sunday.
According to the victims, their art teacher asked them to proceed to his office when the attack happened.
"We have spoken to the pupils and they say they have no idea why he did it. He just called them into his office and began attacking them," Chief of Police Deng Mingshan explained.
Photos posted on the Daily Mail UK showed how badly the children were beaten with one so severely pounded with a textbook that his skull was reportedly fractured.
All of the victims are known to be in stable condition after being given necessary medical attention.
Meanwhile, investigators believe that Lei has fled the scene of the crime through the nearby woodlands outside of the city after finding tire tracks, footprints and empty bottles of wine heading out in that direction.
