A number of people fortunate enough to have preordered the first batch of Apple's iPhone 6 on Sept. 12 at 12 a.m. PST are currently auctioning their prizes on eBay to make over A$1,000 in net profits.
One Australian eBay seller placed an ad for a 64 GB model of the iPhone 6 Plus, the larger version of the two new smartphones at 5.5 inches, for US$2,400.

The very same model of iPhone is advertised at Apple's official online store for $1,129. Batches other than the first will be shipped between three to four weeks, which will see buyers get their hands on the phone by the middle of October.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald, there were 175 Australian entrepreneurs that listed different models of the iPhone 6 on eBay at a premium compared to the official prices advertised by Apple on Monday.
While Apple has generally kept the prices of its smartphones the same among retailers such as telecom companies, Apple can do nothing to hinder people from making a buck from market demand.
Consumer Affairs Victoria said Apple's new phones didn't fit into any enflorceable category because the iPhone is a product and not an event.
Two new smartphones, the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus, were unveiled last previous week by Apple at a major event in its hometown of Cupertino, California.
Apple's website crashed due to the heavy traffic brought by consumers who were vying to secure the iPhone 6.
