Former NBA Top Recruit Greg Oden Says He Will be Remembered as ‘The Biggest Bust in NBA History'

The former top overall draft pick of the league Greg Oden has said that he will be remembered as the "biggest bust in NBA history" after an injury-plagued professional basketball career.

Oden is currently enrolled and attending classes at the Ohio State University to finish his degree in sports industry. The 28-year-old is in his sophomore year and is also presently working as a student manager for the collegiate men's basketball team.

"I'll be remembered as the biggest bust in NBA history," Oden told ESPN's Outside the Lines. "But I can't do nothing about that."

Oden also reiterated that his playing days were over.

"Don't get me wrong," Oden said. "If I was healthy, I would love to continue playing, but I'm not healthy."

Oden was the 2007 NBA Draft No. pick. He was selected by the Portland Trail Blazers and played 82 games in the five seasons with the Western Conference team before being waived by the team in March 2012.

He was able to secure a one-year deal to play for the Miami Heat the following year. However, Oden failed to get a contract extension with the Heat and went to play in the Far East. Oden most recently played in China, where he appeared in 25 matches for the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) team Jiangsu Dragons.

While playing for the Chinese team, Oden was averaging 13.0 points, 12.6 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks shots in an average of 26.3 minutes of playing per game.

Oden is a player with a lot of potential to be an elite NBA star but the native of Buffalo, New York had misfortunes as he suffered series of painful injuries throughout his professional career,
