Huawei has revealed that it has sold more than nine million P9 units globally since the smartphone was launched in April.

The Huawei P9 was sold in many international markets, and its sales steadily increased even without the U.S. debut. The Chinese tech firm said that between April and September, six million units of the device were sold and three million more were moved in the past two months alone, Android Authority reported.

The places where the Huawei P9 sold well are China and European countries. The company's marketing strategy for selling is using celebrity endorsers such as Scarlett Johansson and Henry Cavill with TV commercials.

At the Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin (IFA) 2016 in September, Huawei announced two new colors for the P9; metallic red and metallic blue. The announcement may have significantly contributed to the additional three million units sold.

The Huawei P9 is a premium smartphone with large 5.2-inch full HD display. The phone's size is similar to the iPhone 6S, but Huawei makes better use of the area where it puts a larger screen. The P9 has a glass display curved at the edges, making the housing seamlessly with a full metal casing. Its edges are diamond cut, making it more comfortable to hold.

However, the most remarkable feature of the Huawei P9 is its dual camera lenses. Its rear camera has two lenses, which was developed by the German lens manufacturer Leica Camera AG. One camera has RGB color, and the other one is black and white. The device can capture photos showing distinctive color and timelessness.

Recently, Huawei also unveiled a new device called Mate 9, the latest in its flagship phablet series, according to 9to5Google. It is expected to be released in the international market in the coming weeks.
