Italian automaker Lamborghini unveiled the new Huracan Spyder at the 2016 Los Angeles Motor Show on Wednesday. It will hit the market in January 2017.

The new Lamborghini Huracan Spyder sports a large front air intake, a new set of 19-inch wheels. This is the third Huracan Spyder to be added to the list, and it is a rear-wheel drive variant, which completes the trio including the two- and four-wheel drive coup models.

Powering the new Huracan Spyder is the same 5.2-liter V10 engine with 572bhp. It has a top speed of 198mph and can accelerate from zero to 62mph in just 3.6 seconds. At peak performance, the car can achieve up to 8,000rpm, with 540Nm worth of torque.

Aside from the engine, the new Huracan Spyder is also equipped with the same three-layer roof and mechanism integrated into the all-wheel-drive version of the car. The roof takes 17 seconds to open or close while the car is running up to around 30mph. Once the roof is lowered down, two fins will emerge from the B-pillar which preserves the car's profile while at the same time optimizing airflow towards the engine, according to Auto Blog.

On the interior, the new Huracan Spyder has a 12.3-inch touchscreen display loaded with the latest in Lamborghini infotainment system.

In a statement acquired by Auto Express, Lamborghini chief executive officer Stefano Domenicali said, "It's a Huracan for those entering the Lamborghini family, wanting a true Spyder experience without compromising the performance."

In terms of pricing, Lamborghini said that the rear-wheel-drive variant of the Huracan Spyder would sit in between the two- and four-wheel drive variants.
