An erroneous doping issue published by the New York Times this week did not deter Chinese tennis superstar Li Na from winning her much-awaited rematch with Britain's Laura Robson on Day Five of the 2013 US Open in New York City.

Li Na clinched the victory against Robson, 6-2,7-5, to finally book her way for a place in the last 16 of the U.S. Open on Friday. It was a very crucial match for Li because barely 12 months ago, Robson defeated the Chinese tennis player at the same state of the tournament.
Looking Like A Grand Slam Champion
Li showed her class and skills during the entire duration of the game, establishing a 5-1 lead after just 22 minutes. World-renown sports website, ESPN, described Li as looking like a Grand Slam champion during the match while Robson looked merely like a promising teenager.
Li, who was 2011 French Open champion, admitted she was nervous when it was announced that she will be playing against Robson, who knocked her out of the tournament last year.
The Chinese tennis star, however, didn't let the British player rob her again of the chance to play in the finals. She came prepared with striking power that left the 12-year younger Robson trailing in the scorecard from the very star.
I Improved A Lot Better - Li
Although she said she was surprised by her performance against the same opponent who defeated her 12 months ago, Li said she has improved a lot since that defeat.
When ask about the age difference between her and her British opponent, Li just smiled and announced that age in only on paper.
Robson, meanwhile, said she was disappointed with her performance. She said she came to the match prepared and thought she could have played a lot better.
Li has won a total of 7 WTA and 19 ITF singles titles all throughout her career. She was also named one of Time Magazine's 100 Most Influential People in the World this year for her impact in China and her influence to the Chinese people.
