Internet giant Google has announced Monday that the company's first batch of Android One devices, which were unveiled at the Google I/O conference, would be lunched in India for an average of $105.

The first trio of phones released are the result of the Google's partnerships with Indian firms, including telecommunications company Karbonn, electronics firm Micromax and mobile phone manufacturer Spice. The three phones, which are named after the companies, are dubbed the Karbonn Sparkle V, Micromax Canvas A1 and Spice Dream Uno. The smartphones cost $105, $106 and $103 respectively.

All of the devices are currently being sold exclusively from three different online stores. The Canvas A1 is available through Amazon India, the Dream Uno through Flipkart and Sparkle V through Snapdeal.

The specifications of all phones are the same as they are based on Google's reference design. The only variations in the phones would be in the minor software upgrades and their outer shell designs.

All the three phones would be sporting the same hardware, including a 4.5-inch in plane switching display with 854-by-480 pixel resolution, an FM radio, dual subscriber identity module support, a five megapixel main camera, a 2 megapixel front camera, one gigabyte of random access memory, four gigabytes of built-in storage and a microSD card slot for expandable storage.

They are also equipped with a MediaTek MT6582 system-on-a-chip, a Mali 400 MP2 graphics processing unit and would be running on Android's latest released version, the 4.4.4 KitKat, on a 1.3 gigahertz quadcore Cortex-A7 processor.

The handsets would also receive operating system updates directly from the OS developer for two years after their launch, and would also be one of the first Android devices to be upgraded to the Android L, or any other release in the future by Google.
