'The View' Debuts with New Hosts Rosie Perez, Rosie O'Donnell and Nicolle Wallace

The view at "The View" changed considerably on Monday with the ABC-TV morning talk show classic debuting new hosts Rosie O'Donnell, Rosie Perez and Nicolle Wallace joining returning superstar Whoopi Goldberg.

Founder and longtime host Barbara Walters has retired, but, as they say, the show must go on. Goldberg kicked off the new season by saying that hosts may change, but what never changes was great women having great conversations.

O'Donnell, 52, led off the introductions. She was back on the show following numerous life events including a new marriage, a new baby and an otherwise emptier nest as her oldest child headed off college. She also lost 50 pounds courtesy of a vertical gastric sleeve and surgery. She told the crowd she was doing well two years after heart surgery and felt great.

Perez, 50, was up next. She informed the live studio audience her plate was going to be full. She recently married songwriter Eric Hayes and is co-starring in Larry David's new Broadway Show. She also is taking an active role in the Presidential Advisory Council on HIV and Aids.

Wallace, 42, took over the conservative's role on the show. Former John McCain campaign senior adviser and Bush White House press secretary, she turned to O'Donnell who previously clashed vociferously with former Republican show co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck and said she really liked Hasselbeck.

As for Goldberg, 58, the new lead host, she finished off the introductions with the observation that everybody was eager to carry on the tradition of rich morning talk. She said she was happy to work with the new hosts and, frankly, just happy to have the gig at all.
