According to F-Secure, an anti-virus, cloud content and computer security company, the link invites Twitch users to participate in a weekly raffle to win Counter-Strike: Global Offensive items.

The link eventually leads a user to a Java program that asks for his name and email.

If the user takes the bait, a file will be installed on his computer which steals the money they have in their Stream wallet. The malware cal also sell or trade items from a user's inventory.

Twitch Support said they're working on blocking the link. Users, however, must be aware that variants could appear.

Twitch also warns its users to be cautious of any links that appear in chat.

Twitch Support also suggested that broadcasters enable the "Block Hyperlink" in chat feature under the Channels & Videos settings.

In August, Amazon and Twitch officially declared a deal that will see Amazon purchase all outstanding shares of Twitch for roughly US$970 million in cash.

The deal has been approved by the shareholders of Twitch. It will be completed by the end of the year
