According to the match result in the official website of the BWF, the current world No. 6 Danish badminton ace got the better of the 24-year-old Indian shuttler with a 21-18, 21-18 triumph. Jorgensen consumed 33 minutes of badminton action to secure his ticket to enter the second round of the prestigious USD 400,000 event.

With the victory, the 2015 World Championships bronze medalist registered his second consecutive win against the right-handed native of Andhra Pradesh after beating Sai Praneeth in the last year's edition of the OUE Singapore Open. Jorgensen, who is the third-highest seed of the event, has also maintained clean straight-set victories over his Indian rival in both official meetings.

The newly crowned China Open champion will be facing home crowd favorite Wei Nan of Hong Kong in the following round. The 32-year-old Wei, who currently ranks No. 29 in the latest world ranking result, eliminated Tzu Wei Wang of the Chinese Taipei in two sets that lasted for just 37 minutes.

Basing from Jorgensen and Wei's head-to-head analysis, the upcoming second round battle between the two professional male badminton players will be their second official meetings since April 3, 2015. The 28-year-old Aalborg native enjoys the upper hand after beating the Hong Kong national at the last year's edition of the MayBank Malaysia Open in two sets.

After his successful campaign in Fuzhou, Jorgensen is gunning to win the first Hong Kong title of his career and his second World Superseries championship of the season. A favorable outcome in the 6-star event would also strengthen the Dane's grip at the top three spots of the upcoming Dubai World Superseries Finals next month.
